kite festival
i was there!
the vokspark is not the best place to fly kites (too much trees) but it can work.
lots of different kites, almost only single-liner, very interesting and colourfull giants, lots of people, and… almost no wind.
i wanted to try my new ones, to talk to kite-builders, to fly and have fun. it didn’t work. too much people, too little place, and the kite-makers too busy with selling or presenting theyr kites. so i tryed only my ultra-lights.
for an entry of 5€ it is for me too expensive. if you compare to other festivals and kite-competitions with free entry… but as an aktive (registered) kiter, you go there for free. thanks flying-colors!
my idea: get some trim-coaches there. to make toy-kites with the kids (or to sell rtf-kites) is not enough if they don’t fly. to kite is more than to hold a line but people don’t know that!

still have to rivet the whole thing but that’s how i mean it should look like. now i need a new office-chair.

quite easy to make, quite hard to trim. but it works!

kite-buggy
i wouldn’t be me if i… ta-da… new project!!!
the start is done: a 2nd (looks like 20th…) hand twins-buggy.
the plan:
- a sit (i have a red one that could fit)
- stearing (don’t ask me yet - no idea)
- foot-breaks (not sure if i really need them but “safety first”)
- lots of oil to forget that that thing weights a tonn
- a mast and a sail (optional - for the days i don’t feel like kiting)
- hi-fi, light, mirror, live-cam, gps, swiss-pocket-knive, ashtray, bottle-opener…

here is the start of a brand new tag: workshop.
here i’ll post all the stuff i helped people to do, no matter if my idea or my technical knowlege or my experience. it’s a late start but even better than no start.
parafoil
after almost a week of studying, planing, designing and sewing… today the test. unfortunately there was not enough wind to fly it, but anyway emough to trim and to be sure that it flyes! now i’m proud to present you the youngest of my kites: a 2,30 x 0,70m parafoil.
the most interesting side of the kite is that i made it of old material. there was a broken beach-tent, some flags, a piece of net and simple strings. all in all it costed me as much as a pizza with a coke.

heute in der wuhlheide
zugegeben, da muß es schon einen seeehr guten grund dafür geben daß ich mir ronan keating, juli, aura dione, christina stürmer und edita (who the f…???) antue. den gab es. ich war da.
eines ist sicher: nicht meine (musikalische) liga!
dennoch: gut zu sehen wie verschidene künstler (und leider auch weniger begabte aber umso mehr von sich überzeugte singwollenden menschen) in direktvergleich arbeiten.
witziges: eine falsch eingestellte oder einfach nur schlecht bediente nebelmaschine die die ganze bühne unter eine wolke setzte wurde nur im letztem akt vermißt. ansonsten war sie dabei, und wie!!!
licht war da zu genüge, wurde aber auch nur im letztem akt anständig bedient. alle andere künstler begnügten sich mit entweder rot oder blau. dafür aber im wechsel. bühne ganz rot, bühne ganz blau, blau mit pointer, rot mit pointer, oder ohne pointer. miserable leistung, die zweite, der technik.
highlight waren die umbauphasen wo sich lokale radiomoderatoren um die laune des publikums gekümmert haben. goldwert sowas!
von den künstler… christina stürmer zieht ihr ding durch, vermittelt mir das gefühl daß alles einstudiert ist, kann eine große bühne nicht ausnutzen und hört sich besser an gut abgemischt von der cd als live.
aura dione ist auch so ein fall wie christina stürmer. hat sich aber zumindest mit ihren outfit genug mühe gegeben. die fotos sind ok. leider ist eine sammlung von keyboards (zugeballert mit samples) keine band, auch nicht wenn ein gutgemeiner begleitgitarrist und backgrounder noch dazu auf der bühne steht.für mich wars halb-karaoke, nur gut für die weihnachtsfeier.
dann edita. got oh got oh got… wer ist das und was macht sie da??? ein getanze von männliche go-go’s die den ganzen auftritt lang hopsten, eine frau vorne die ständig vom playback gerettet wurde, unverständliche nervige rumgemummle am mikro, high-heels indem sie ersichtlich nicht laufen kann, miserabel abgemischtem ton, unvorteihaftem outfit… aber star-allüren.
juli. bodenständige junge leute die zurecht gefeiert wurden. haben dem volk ihre hit gegeben und das publikum war glücklich. kein großer schnickschnack, auch vollkommen verloren auf der große bühne, aber von der performance her eine anständige leistung.
ronan keating als letzter. endlich mit ein mann am lichpult! ein künstler der die ganze bühne ausnutzt, der kilometer hin-und-her läuft um die leute bei sich zu haben, auch die die nicht genau vor der bühne stehen. er paßt seine performance an den titeln an. jemand der “echt” wirkt. der ein fenomenalen background mit auf der bühne hat. ronan keating hat als einzige für mich seine hausaufgaben gemacht. chapeau!
zum schluß gabs noch ein knackigen feuerwerk. damit schickte man die leute heim. die idee ist toll. das muß ich mir merken.
auch wenn es definitiv nicht meine mucke war, die lokation wird mich wieder sehen. bis dahin werd ich bestimmt verdrängt haben daß mir dort ein becher mit cola dreieinnhalb euro kostet.
